Refund and Returns Policy

This policy covers solar lights and chargers bought through unitetolight.org. Last updated August 31, 2026.

Returns

Items can be returned within 14 days of the delivery date. To be eligible, they must be returned in their original packaging with all parts included.

Customers pay return shipping on change-of-mind returns. There is no restocking fee.

How to start a return

Email admin@unitetolight.org with your name and order number, and we will send you return instructions and the return address.

Refunds

We inspect returns within 5 business days of receiving them and issue the refund to the original payment method. Depending on your bank, it can take a further 5 to 10 business days to appear on your statement.

Refunds cover the price of the returned items. Original shipping charges are not refunded.

Exchanges

We do not process direct exchanges. To swap an item, return it for a refund and place a new order. Faulty items are replaced rather than exchanged, as described below.

Damaged or defective items

If your order arrives damaged, or a light or charger stops working, email admin@unitetolight.org within 30 days of delivery with your order number and a photo of the item. We cover return shipping in these cases and will send a replacement or issue a full refund.

Buy One | Give One orders

Returning a purchase does not undo the light that was given. We do not reclaim donated lights, and your refund covers your item only.

Bulk and nonprofit orders

Bulk, wholesale and nonprofit orders are handled case by case rather than under the 14-day window above. Email admin@unitetolight.org to make arrangements.

Shipping and delivery

We ship within the United States. Ground shipping is calculated at checkout by order weight and usually arrives in 3 to 5 business days. Orders are typically packed and handed to the carrier within one business day.
