Interact Club of Dos Pueblos High School partners with Rotary Club of Goleta to complete local and international community service projects. This year they have selected the Alma Children’s Education Foundation to receive all proceeds raised through this site.
This project aims to provide five communities in Bolivia with solar-powered lamps for reading. These lamps will provide children the opportunity to complete homework during the evenings and read at home. The five communities that will benefit from this project are: Cotoca, Manguita, Las Palmeras, Monte Cristo and San Martin de Porres. These are places that Alma Children’s Education Foundation has existing programs and where they know the lights will benefit the community.
High school students take on projects locally include refurbishing a local summer camp and making care packages for the organization Doctors Without Walls. Additionally Interact Club of Dos Pueblos High School has completed international projects such as supplying Water Pasteurization Indicators (WAPIs) to multiple countries in Africa.
